VII. CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT

From its origins as a public park in the mid-19th century, Fairmount Park has established a strong public/private partnership. Volunteerism exists at every level of the park organization, from the governing body of the Fairmount Park Commission to the 85 Friends groups who help restore, maintain, and preserve Philadelphia's parks.
