Fairmount Park's Marketing & Promotions Office is conducting a contest for all photographers who would like their digital photo included in the official 2009 Fairmount Park Calendar. The overwhelming success of the recent Postcard Contest demonstrates how popular photography in the Park is. We think a 2009 Calendar is a natural progression to give shutterbugs another chance for fame! The best part is you our visitors get to select the winners that will be featured in the calendar. We learned from our last experience how to improve the quality of photo submissions and to better manage the process. We received hundreds of photos to review but some participants sent multiple photos from their camera or hard drive without carefully considering their quality or appropriateness. For the 2009 Calendar we will require all submissions to be accompanied by a $5 per photo processing donation. This amount is nominal but will encourage photographers to carefully consider each photo before sending. Also it will raise the caliber of the photos so that only the best will be vying for a place in a 2009 Calendar that will be enjoyed all year. Remember, we need photos depicting ALL 4 SEASONS! All winners will receive a complimentary copy of the 2009 Fairmount Park Calendar (a $20 value), and photographer's credit for each winning photo selected. A press event will be held to announce the winners and will be held in LOVE Park / Fairmount Park Welcome Center. Calendars will be available for sale in the LOVE Shop in the Welcome Center while supplies last. Voting will begin on September 8, 2008. Anyone can vote, so stop back here for more details.
